An accomplished leader in philanthropy, Kari Uyehara possesses over two decades of industry experience building and directing non-profit organizations. During this time, she managed a range of capital projects, including the renovation of two Boys & Girls Clubs and the construction of batting cages, basketball courts, and outdoor fields, aimed at improving the lives of underserved youth. In addition, she helped to raise more than $40M through unique, celebrity/athlete driven fundraising events. Kari is seasoned at leading public-private partnerships as well as forging relationships with corporate and non-profit partners.
Her career began at the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, where she played an instrumental role in the development of a K-12 charter school. Following this, Kari established the Shane Victorino Foundation, then later The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation, working with their respective namesakes to build their charities from the ground up and bring their philanthropic visions to reality. While at the Shaq Foundation, she was responsible for its highly successful fundraising gala, The Event, which featured Grammy Award winning performers such as Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Pitbull, and more.
Currently, Kari serves as Executive Director for the Raiders Foundation, the charitable arm of the Las Vegas Raiders. In addition to overseeing their various fundraising programs, she is also responsible for the organization’s community grantmaking. Kari is able to leverage the team’s resources and platform to execute a giving strategy focused on impact and sustainability. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation, following her transition as the former Executive Director for the organization.
Originally from Maui, Hawaii, Kari has been a resident of Las Vegas for over 25 years.
