Legacy Society

The Legacy Society honors those individuals and families that have chosen to include the Foundation in their estate plans or in a planned gift arrangement. Their generosity will not only benefit future generations but will also help build awareness of what is possible through charitable giving vehicles. Gifts received through an individual's planned giving instrument help build our endowment, assuring a strong and sustaining future for the community.

If you have included the Nevada Community Foundation in your estate plans, please let us know so that we may acknowledge and thank you.

Scholarship Funds

A Scholarship Fund of the Nevada Community Foundation allows a donor to help deserving students achieve their educational goals.

Many individuals and corporations recognize that establishing a Scholarship Fund is one of the most effective, immediate, and rewarding ways to build the future of our community. The Nevada Community Foundation administers a wide variety of Scholarship Funds, each with a different emphasis that reflects the founding donor's passions and commitment to our community.

Scholarship programs require diligent administration and must conform strictly to standards of impartiality and integrity. With that in mind, the Nevada Community Foundation's staff collaborates with the donor to create a customized scholarship program that meets specific interests while also ensuring a fair and objective selection process. Scholarships can be limited to a school district, a county, a specific student profile or background - whatever a donor envisions. The Nevada Community Foundation works with the donor to define the eligibility criteria, selection committee, and award use and administration.

Benefits of creating a Scholarship Fund include the following:

  • Ability to customize the scholarship
  • Assistance in the development and preservation of a fair, objective, and neutral selection process with the Nevada Community Foundation's years of expertise in scholarship administration
  • Opportunity to honor a special person or memorialize a loved one
  • Increased visibility of your fund and potential for additional contributions
  • Most favorable tax treatment for gifts to your fund
  • Recognition for all scholarships made from your fund
