Begin Planning Your Legacy

Legacy Society

The Legacy Society honors those individuals and families that have chosen to include the Foundation in their estate plans or in a planned gift arrangement. Their generosity will not only benefit future generations but will also help build awareness of what is possible through charitable giving vehicles. Gifts received through an individual's planned giving instrument help build our endowment, assuring a strong and sustaining future for the community.

If you have included the Nevada Community Foundation in your estate plans, please let us know so that we may acknowledge and thank you.

Grants from the Foundation

The vast majority of the Nevada Community Foundationassets are distributed in partnership with our family of donor advisors, and applications for these funds are generally not accepted. However, in this section, you will find information on how to apply for grants available through our pool of charitable dollars provided by our unrestricted & field of interest funds, scholarship funds, and corporate grant administration.

The Traditional Grant Process

Through our Traditional Grant Process, organizations may submit applications that support innovative charitable projects and programs aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens of southern Nevada.  Deadlines occur twice a year, due in the Foundation offices by 4:30 p.m. on the last Fridays in February and August.Applicants must be 501c(3) or units of government working for public good.  Grants awarded range from $3,000- $10,000.

The Community Investment Process

Through the Community Investment Process organizations may submit an Idea Letter at any time, to members of the Community Conference who convene monthly to determine where millions of charitable dollars will go toward building and strengthening community.

Basic facts about the process:

  • Begins with an "Idea Letter"
  • Focused on Engaging Citizens
  • Applicants may be traditional charities or groups of citizens
  • No specific deadline, Ideas considered monthly
  • Investments awarded average from $5,000 and above
