Legacy Society

The Legacy Society honors those individuals and families that have chosen to include the Foundation in their estate plans or in a planned gift arrangement. Their generosity will not only benefit future generations but will also help build awareness of what is possible through charitable giving vehicles. Gifts received through an individual's planned giving instrument help build our endowment, assuring a strong and sustaining future for the community.

If you have included the Nevada Community Foundation in your estate plans, please let us know so that we may acknowledge and thank you.

Field of Interest Fund

While some people may have a specific organization that is close to their heart, you may value the work done on behalf of an issue by several organizations. With a Field of Interest Fund at the Nevada Community Foundation, you have the opportunity to support a broad area of need or a favorite cause without having to name a particular charity.

For example, a donor who has been a life-long patron of the arts by attending local symphony performances and theater productions may choose to establish an Arts & Humanities Field of Interest Fund. It is then the responsibility of Nevada Community Foundation's staff to identify organizations that make the greatest impact and meet the most pressing needs within a chosen "field." The Nevada Community Foundation's Distributions Committee will review our professional staff's suggestions and approve grants to be made on behalf of the fund.

Field of Interest Funds may be established both by type of interest, such as health and human services programs, as well as geographic area, such as Clark County.  They will remain relevant now and in the future.

Benefits of creating a Field of Interest Fund include the following:

  • Most favorable tax treatment for gifts to your fund
  • Opportunity to name your own fund
  • Recognition for all grants made from your fund
  • By naming a program area and not a specific organization, flexibility exists to meet the ever-changing needs of the community
